Dating Sites News & Commentary

So when I gave the initial numbers of $0.05 per click and 3% and all that.. well, Google lied to me, they apparently haven’t updated their traffic estimator tool.  Back in the day you could pay $0.01 for a click, which was bumped to $0.05 and has now been bumped to $0.10 for most keywords (pretty much anything related to dating: $0.10).  So that was a little disheartening but I started the campaign anyways at $10.00 a day at $0.10 per click.

We’ll do some quick math again, I think it ends up with me making $12 profit at 1000 clicks with a 3% conversion ratio which really isn’t that bad, a 12% profit, but anyways:

1000 clicks x $0.10 = $100.00

1000 w/ 3% conversion = 30 leads

30 leads at $3.75 per lead (SinglesNet commission) = $112.50

$112.50 (revenue) - $100.00 (cost) = $12.50 profit for a $100 investment.   Adding some zeros this could also be $125.00 profit for $1000 investment which I could swing but not indefinitely.  Now, there are other ways that I can generate traffic through PPC.  I haven’t even looked at Yahoo! or MSN which if i remember correctly were significantly cheaper and in the past yielded better results for me compared to Google.  I just started with Google since it’s the easiest to get off the ground with.

So we’ll see what this looks like in a few days.  I should be capable of generating a lead at least every other day at these reduced levels.  Tomorrow I’ll take a look at MSN AdCenter.
