Dating Sites News & Commentary

I can’t tell you how many times people have come up to me and my girlfriend and have asked how we met. When we say “Match.com”, most give us a look of disbelief and say,  ”Do those sites really work?” For us it did and it can for you too.

In 2001, I moved to South Carolina with my wife of 7 years. We had each been divorced once before. She had three children and I had two. As far as I knew we were the “Brady Bunch”. I was very happy but apparently she was not. She decided she was moving to Pennsylvania and so began my newly single life. I was accustomed to a large family life and coming home to a nearly empty house started to weigh on my emotions. I had a son of 11 years old with me and I was a small business owner.  My son’s mother lived in Canada and I was solely responsible for his welfare. What could I do? I am the type of person that has always had a relationship and I didn’t know much at the time but I did know, I didn’t want to be alone. I knew that I wanted to meet someone but being a single parent and a business owner didn’t allow much time for traditional dating. I didn’t want to go to a nightclub or a bar and meet someone I knew nothing about with the exception of their appearance, and I certainly didn’t want my son to see me go through a myriad of different women. So for the time being, I sucked it up and was the perfect parent for my son and  continued to run my business with dating put on the back burner for now.

Then one night it happened. I was on the computer after a long day. I was checking my e-mail and suddenly a banner popped up for Match.com. I had seen this before and had even heard commercials on the t.v. and radio but never paid much attention to them. this time I actually read the banner and it talked about matching you with someone based on levels of compatibility. This spiked my curiosity and I clicked on the banner. Before long I was answering a series of questions about my personal habits, my likes and dislikes and the traits that I wanted in a woman. I answered these questions as honestly as I could and that proved to be the key. I then uploaded a recent picture of myself and paid a small fee for 1 month of membership. I was truly amazed. The computer had “My matches.” There were several women that were perfect for me. Not only were they the size and shape I was looking for but they liked the things I liked to do, they had similar marriage statuses, children etc. Well about a week went by and I have to admit even though these women appeared to be perfect for me, I was still reluctant to contact them via “Wink” or E-mail. Well I went to my e-mail as I usually do and I had a message from Match.com saying that I had received a “wink”. Well I logged on to Match.com and there she was. A picture of one of the women who had been matched to me was smiling on the edge of her bed. I said “What the heck and winked back. She later e-mailed me and before long we were talking on the phone. That was over five years ago. We met the same evening for a dinner date and have been together ever since.

I know our story may be exceptional and not every match will work as well as ours but I do recommend trying it. The best way to avoid a “Match gone wrong.” will be to be completely honest when filling out your questionnaire. This will mean listing your faults and not so attractive attributes. We all have them, and not saying so up front will only postpone the hertache to follow. Also know what you are looking for in a mate. This is your chance to design your own mate, but be realistic about your expectations. Know what you are willing to accept in a mate and what you are not willing to accept. For instance if you live in Maine and your match lives in Florida and he can only see you on holidays, it may not work.  Anyways, I hope this information will serve to enhance your  love and your life.

My brand new Bandolino, taupe,
peep-toe, sling-back, pump. These are the type of shoes that should be
a staple item in any women’s closet. They are perfect for the
office, a dinner date, or even church on Sunday. The taupe color is
an easy color match with many different colors. Just like the
little black dress is a staple item, these shoes are the staple item
for your foot.

The shoes were made in China and are sold at the Bandolino store in
the mall at retail price of $69.00.  They are a shiny, patent leather
with a silver buckle that sits on the side of the ankle, for both
cosmetic and functional purposes. Although these pumps look high, they
are very comfortable, because the heel is not a skinny stiletto.
These shoes are very easy to walk in, which work for a day at
work or a night out with friends.
Sling-back pumps have always been a fashion item that seems to be in
style all year long. They have never gone out of style, but their look
has changed over time with many embellishments on the top, like bows,
buckles, and rhinestones. Every season, the style changes a little
bit. For example when it is winter, there usually is not a peep toe,
and there might be a wool fabric on the top to give it more of a winter
look. Then when the weather gets warmer the peep-toe will be popular
along with the leather fabrics.
The sling-back pump is one of the best items to have in your closet.

Let me admit right now: I am 100% a brand whore. I am loyal to the brands I like, prefering their items over others. I own multiples of similar items from these brands, often 2 of the exact same thing, exact. I consume hundreds of these brands instant consumables a year.  Do I fall victim to their marketing schemes? Yes. Am I aware of it? Yes.

Brands I am a whore for:

Levis
American Cosmetics
Bare Minerals
Vera Wang
Lush Cosmetics
Loop NYC

Yes, you now have permission to harass me forever. I have exposed my weakness. I am 100% Taurean (if you believe in that, it is.It is ironic how perfect and to a T the match me) in the sense that I am very loyal (have you noticed my three year relationship?) even to brands.
